A fruitful vine and olive plants…

No, I’m not talking about this year’s garden. We didn’t get enough rain this past summer to fill a thimble. On top of that we experienced record setting triple digit temperatures.  No, I am not even talking about plans for a building a greenhouse next year. I only have two thumbs and unfortunately neither one is green.  Even so, a fruitful vine and olive plants is what the Lord has blessed me with.

Psalm 128:1-4
1  Blessed is every one that feareth the Lord; that walketh in his ways.
2  For thou shalt eat the labour of thine hands: happy shalt thou be, and it shall be well with thee.
3  Thy wife shall be as a fruitful vine by the sides of thine house: thy children like olive plants round about thy table.
4  Behold, that thus shall the man be blessed that feareth the LORD.

On October 11, 2011 my wife gave birth to our fourth child…a precious baby girl. Ever since God gave us our first daughter I knew I wanted to have another girl someday. The Lord has blessed us greatly by giving us two sons (Joseph and Jadon) and two daughters (Mikayla and Emmie).

Some dads get to have only sons. Other dads get to have only daughters. I have been greatly blessed of the Lord to have such a beautiful wife and sons and daughters. Our greatest desire is to see our children believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and trust Him for the forgiveness of their sins. I thank the Lord for making Psalm 128 true in my life.
